You climb Carters Mountain Trail for the view, and near the top, next to the orchard, Bold Rock is pouring cider. This is the cider company's taproom at the summit of Carter Mountain, set right beside the apple trees that make the drink make sense here.

It is a taproom rather than a full production house, the kind of stop that fits naturally into a day already spent on the mountain, close enough to the trees to feel connected to where the cider begins.

When to go

The taproom keeps the same hours every day of the week, Monday through Sunday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. That midday-to-late-afternoon window suits the way people tend to visit Carter Mountain: come up for the morning, wander the grounds, and end with a glass before the light starts to go. There is no separate weekend schedule to track and no early or late exception, which makes it easy to plan around.
