Overview

On a quiet lane off the main run of Crozet, a small preschool has been doing the same unhurried work for more than two decades: teaching two-, three-, and four-year-olds their letters and their manners, their solar system and their Scripture, and sending them home each afternoon a little more themselves than they were at drop-off. Hillsboro Christian Preschool opened in 2003 as a weekday education ministry of Hillsboro Baptist Church, and it calls itself the longest-running Christian preschool in the Crozet community — a claim that, at over twenty-two years and counting, is hard to argue with.

It is a weekday operation, and a compact one. Classes run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, which lines up with the shape of a young family's morning and leaves the afternoon open.
