Overview

The beer list is the whole point, and Sedona Taphouse doesn't pretend otherwise. On Millmont Street in Charlottesville, the place keeps hundreds of craft beers moving — some on draft, many more waiting in cans and bottles — drawn from both local Virginia breweries and labels from further afield. It's the kind of tap wall that rewards indecision: you can come in knowing exactly what you want and leave having tried something you'd never heard of, which is more or less the promise a good taphouse makes.

But calling it only a beer bar undersells the kitchen. This is a taphouse and grill, and the food menu is built to keep pace with the drink menu rather than apologize for it.

What to order

The house signature is the STH Burger — a seven-ounce Wagyu patty with pepper jack, jicama slaw, and a sweet chili glaze on a toasted potato bun. It's the sort of build that tells you where the kitchen's head is: not fussy, but not lazy either, with the slaw and the chili glaze doing real work against the richness of the beef. It anchors the handhelds and turns up as the star of the midweek "Thursday Bites" lineup.

Beyond the burger, the menu leans on Southwest-inflected cooking and a rotating set of starters worth building a table around — flatbreads to share, and a Spicy Thai Shrimp that the restaurant flags as one of its signatures. There are separate lunch, dinner, brunch, and dessert menus, plus a kids' menu, so the range is wide without trying to be all things at once. If you're pairing, the staff have the full run of that beer wall to work with, along with a liquor list and wines by the bottle.

The weekly rhythm

Half the fun here is that the calendar changes what's worth showing up for. Sundays bring a proper brunch — the restaurant runs $14 mimosa flights and an $11 signature Bloody Mary bar — and from mid-afternoon on, a three-course "Cheers to Sunday" prix fixe starting at $19.90, dine-in only, from 2:30pm to close.

The rest of the week keeps its own themes. Wine Down Wednesday puts bottles under $50 at half price and knocks $10 off the pricier ones, good in house or to-go until 9pm. Mondays are "Dine Out for Charity," with 50% off select flat iron steak, grilled chicken, and salmon entrées and a dollar from every plate going to a local cause. Tuesdays feature a T2T Lemon Basil Martini, with a dollar per drink donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Fridays lean into the beer selection, and Saturdays into the starters. It's a lot of moving parts, but the throughline is consistent: there's usually a reason to come on the day you're already free.

And every weekday there's Happier Hours, running 3pm to 6pm Monday through Friday — the quiet stretch when a taphouse is arguably at its best, before the evening crowd fills in.
