Batesville

Batesville is a nineteenth-century crossroads village that never got around to changing — a bend of Plank Road with a store, a church, and a hall, wrapped in some of the county's prettiest farmland. The Batesville Market anchors it: part general store, part café, part music venue on the right evenings.

It's the destination for a slow morning drive or the reward at the end of a bike loop. Nobody passes through Batesville by accident, which is most of its charm.
