Greenwood is where Crozet starts feeling like the countryside it used to be: Route 250 west through orchard country, past estates with names older than the county's subdivisions — Mirador, birthplace of Nancy Astor, among them. The country store is the community's living room.

Come in fruit season for the orchards and farm stands, or just for the drive — the 250 approach to Afton Mountain is one of the prettiest stretches of road in Albemarle.
